Field season is officially in full swing for the Sanchez Lab, and things are already busy out in the field! Our students have been hard at work monitoring wildlife cameras, and searching for nests as the breeding season ramps up. Soon we will begin conducting bird surveys across local sites and recording bird songs! It’s officially the Sanchez Lab's second field season and it's been exciting to see our projects come to life - old and new! Even better, students are stepping into mentorship roles, helping train newer lab members, in field methods, data collection, and how to navigate the (sometimes unpredictable) realities of fieldwork. It’s a season full of learning, teamwork, and discovery, and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the summer brings. Stay tuned for updates from the field!
